Why do GORE-TEX® garments need seam tape?

Seam tape is used to seal the tiny holes created by sewing when GORE-TEX® fabric is made into garments. These holes may be small, but they can cause leaks. What is not covered under warranty?

SITKA Gear does not currently cover wear and tear damage. Examples of wear and tear include rips, punctures, tears, pinholes, burns, staining, pilling, pulls, snags, and theft, among others. read more

Does making a repair in the field void my warranty?

Repairing gear is a natural part of your garment's life cycle. If you encounter a tear or puncture in the field, don't hesitate to make a self-repair. During peak seasons, our warranties and repairs may take around 8 weeks on average. Utilizing a patch (we can provide one if available) or sewing up your garment (if it's not GORE-TEX) can extend your season a little longer. read more
